About the National Single Parent Resource Center

Coach Judy Romanoff and Phoenix

Founded in 1994 by Coach Judy Romanoff, the National Single Parent Resource Center (NSPRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and enhancing the lives of current and future single parent families. A single parent family may include a teen experiencing pregnancy, an unmarried couple raising children, or parents who are separated or going through a divorce while raising children. Our journey began with developing informative programs for parents in South Florida, and in 1999, our founder’s diligent efforts were recognized with the prestigious National Phoenix award from Parenting Coalition International at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. Since our inception, we have been guided by our motto: “Helping Others Helps Ourselves” and “Positive Energy Brings Positive Results.”

The NSPRC offers a range of practical resources designed to help single parents navigate the challenges they face. We provide educational materials, workshops, and support programs that address issues such as family court proceedings, co-parenting strategies, and financial management. Our flagship resource, “Practical Knowledge for Facing Divorce and Single Parenthood,” includes reality-based guidance to help parents save time, money, and frustration during difficult transitions. Through our various initiatives, we strive to reduce the abuse that children, parents, and grandparents sometimes experience during these challenging times.

Today, the NSPRC continues to grow its community of support for single parents across the state. What began as a local effort has expanded into a broader mission of connection, compassion, and empowerment. We bring together single mothers and fathers to share experiences, access resources, and build lasting relationships that foster personal growth and family stability. Our commitment remains steadfast: to support children’s needs through programs that strengthen single parent families and help them thrive despite the challenges they face.
